Location: Crewe
Duration: 21 weeks
This redevelopment project transformed a brownfield site, previously a car park at the Market Shopping Centre in Crewe, into a McDonald’s restaurant with a drive-thru and large parking area. The site, initially vacant and fenced off, was surrounded by pedestrian walkways, main traffic routes, and a HGV route leading to the shopping centre’s service area.
External Works:
- Removed overgrowth and isolated existing car park services.
- Excavated and prepared the site for new foundations, drainage, and services.
- Installed underground electrical and water services, including a new electrical substation.
- Created new kerb lines, islands, and a car park perimeter.
- Poured foundations, installed signage, block paving, lighting, and constructed a new corral wall and gates.
- Completed the car park and drive-thru area with new tarmac, white lining, and finishes.
Internal Works:
- Built a steel-framed restaurant with a suspended floor.
- Installed new customer and crew toilets, furnishings, and kitchen equipment.
- Set up electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems, including wiring and ducting.
- Fitted new booths, McDelivery space, and restaurant finishes.
